Research report

How we handle reviews, and how to read them

Summary

We hold 6,368 reviews behind the 20 clinics we list in Turkey. They are aggregated from public platforms and screened. None was verified by a visit, and this page exists to say what that distinction costs.

1. Where the numbers come from.

Review counts and ratings are collected from public review platforms against each clinic listing. They are screened for the obvious problems: duplicates, empty five star entries posted in batches, and text appearing verbatim under more than one clinic.

Screening removes noise. It cannot confirm the person had the procedure, and no amount of filtering turns an unverified review into a verified one. That is why no page on this site describes a review as verified, and why you should ask what was checked whenever you see that word elsewhere.

2. The useful reviews are the twelve month ones.

Most hair transplant reviews are written within a fortnight of the procedure, when the patient has experienced the transfer, the hotel and the staff, but has seen no result at all. Growth takes twelve months.

A fortnight-old five star review tells you about hospitality. A twelve month review tells you about surgery. When you read a clinic's reviews, sort for the second kind and largely ignore the first.

3. Complaints cluster somewhere else.

Readers unhappy with growth tend to post on forums and communities rather than on a clinic's own listing, partly because the disappointment arrives a year after the transaction.

This produces a systematic bias: aggregate ratings skew toward the service experience while the outcome discussion happens elsewhere. A high aggregate rating alongside a thin or negative forum reputation is a combination worth investigating rather than dismissing.

4. What we cannot yet serve.

Proof is 17% of the queries in our corpus, the third largest intent after cost and shortlist. It is also the one we serve least well, because it needs outcome evidence we do not hold: consented before and after cases, and reviews tied to a documented procedure.

We would rather name that gap than fill it with a gallery borrowed from clinic marketing. Until it is closed, treat every published photograph, ours or anyone's, as a sample somebody chose.

Common questions

Are the reviews on Tressari verified?

No. They are aggregated from public platforms and screened for obvious manipulation. Screening cannot confirm someone had the procedure.

Which reviews should I trust?

Ones written around twelve months after surgery, when the result is actually visible. Two week reviews describe the hotel and the transfer.

Why does a clinic have great reviews but bad forum threads?

Disappointment arrives a year later and usually gets posted somewhere other than the clinic's listing. It is a known bias, not a contradiction.
