Will the NHS cover dental treatment done overseas?
The NHS does not cover or reimburse elective dental treatment performed abroad. However, many Brits use dental tourism precisely because NHS dental access has collapsed in much of England, with backlogs of 6–24 months and limited availability of complex treatment. Regardless, the savings from dental tourism (typically 70–85%) far exceed anything you'd be charged on NHS band 3 in England (£319.10 as of 2026).
Can my UK dentist access my treatment records?
Yes. Every Tressari partner clinic provides complete digital treatment records including X-rays, treatment notes, and material certificates. These are emailed in standard DICOM/PDF format that any UK dental practice can read and import.
What if something goes wrong after I return to the UK?
All Tressari partner clinics offer written warranties (typically 5–10 years for implants, 5 years for crowns and veneers) honoured directly by the treating clinic. Tressari coordinates warranty claims and return-visit logistics on your behalf, but travel costs for warranty visits are the patient's responsibility. Minor adjustments can be handled locally by your UK dentist using the treatment records provided.
Do I need a visa to travel for dental work?
UK passport holders now enjoy visa-free entry to Vietnam for up to 45 days (policy extended through 2028), Thailand (60 days), Hungary (90 days, Schengen), and Turkey (90 days). For longer Vietnam stays, apply for the 90-day e-visa online at evisa.gov.vn. No medical or dental-specific visa is required anywhere.
How long do I need to stay for dental implants?
Most implant procedures require 7–10 days for the initial phase. If your treatment includes a permanent prosthetic (e.g., All-on-4), you may need a second visit of 3–5 days after 4–6 months for the final fitting. Some clinics offer same-day permanent teeth protocols.
Is it safe to fly after dental surgery?
You can fly 24–48 hours after most dental procedures. For surgical extractions, implant placement, or bone grafting, we recommend waiting 3–5 days. Your dentist will advise based on your specific procedure. Cabin pressure changes do not affect dental implants or crowns.
What materials do the clinics use? Are they CE-marked?
Tressari partner clinics use the same global brands as UK practices: Straumann and Nobel Biocare implants (CE-marked), IPS E.max and BruxZir crowns, 3M and Ivoclar bonding materials. Material certificates with batch numbers are provided with every treatment.
Can I combine dental work with a holiday?
Absolutely. Most UK patients build 3–7 leisure days into their trip. Vietnam offers beaches (Da Nang, Phu Quoc) and Ha Long Bay. Thailand has islands and temples. Budapest combines with Vienna or Prague easily, and Turkey with Cappadocia or Antalya coast. We'll help plan your itinerary around treatment schedules.
What about follow-up appointments?
Tressari schedules virtual check-ins at 30, 90, and 365 days post-treatment via WhatsApp video call. Your clinic reviews healing progress remotely. If an in-person visit is needed, it can be done at any Tressari partner clinic or coordinated with your UK dentist.
How do I pay?
Clinics accept UK bank transfers, Visa, Mastercard, and cash (GBP, USD, EUR, or local currency). Quotes are provided in GBP. Payment is made directly to the clinic. Tressari does not charge patients any fees.
