Germany is the largest European source market for Turkish hair transplants, helped by long-standing family and travel links between the two countries and by direct flights from almost every German city. That familiarity cuts both ways: it makes the trip easy, and it means a great deal of clinic marketing is aimed squarely at German readers.
What the price gap actually is
A 2,500 graft FUE runs about $2350 in Turkey against roughly $9,000 at home, a difference of about $6,650 before flights. That gap is the single largest variable in this decision and it is why the market exists at all. It is not evidence that Turkish care is better or worse; it is evidence that the same labour costs different amounts in different places.
What insurance does
Statutory insurance treats pattern hair loss as cosmetic, so a German patient pays privately whichever route they take. Private policies rarely differ on this. Travel insurance is a separate question, and standard policies commonly exclude anything arising from a procedure you travelled to receive.
The question that decides your result
Not the country, and not the technique. Which parts of the procedure the named surgeon performs personally, and how many patients the clinic operates on that day. A clinic that answers both plainly in writing has told you more than any accreditation logo.
